New Delhi: A man presumed to be murdered was arrested by the Delhi Police eight days after his murder. Sartaj Ahmeds funeral was attended by his relatives and was duly mourned.
Irfan a cousin of Sartaj Ahmed had lodged an FIR in Chandipur in Bijanaur district Uttar Pradesh on March 20. The FIR stated that Sartaj Ahmed on his way to Karal was hacked to death and then burnt. Acting on this a post mortem was conducted and the accused was being traced.
Meanwhile the Delhi Police on March 28 arrested Sartaj also called Shakil and booked him under section 25 of the Arms Act and Section 5 of TADA. He was lodged in Tihar Jail.
In an order CMM J.P. Sharma on the request of the Delhi Police issued a production warrant to the Superintendent of Tihar jail to produce him in court.
