CHANDIGARE, India: The Eradi Tribunal has directed the Government of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan to hold meetings with two technical experts appointed by it to help ascertain the quantum of water being used by the Government over law and order of Chandigarh till Haryana Capital is located is unconstitutional. There are reports that Centre is making all efforts to find a solution that is acceptable to both States to that Prime Minister’s commitment that Chandigarh would be transferred to Punjab on June 21st is honored, farmers of the three states from the Ravi-Beas system as on July 1st, 1985, The Tribunal has directed the Bhakra Management Board to help in the process, The Bhakra ‘Management Board has submitted ‘comments required by the Tribunal few days back to the commission. Its Counsel appeared before the Tribunal. The Tribunal fixed June 23, and 24 for holding crucial meetings. At the time of its appointment, the Tribunal was authorized to nominate two assessors to verify the data pertaining to the usage of waters of Ravi-Beas system. The two assessors are R. Ghosh, the chairman of the Central Water Commission and Mr. K.V. Rama Rao, former chairman Narbada Central Authority. The Tribunal fixed July 10 for the next date of the hearing. The Commission directed the Haryana Government to open its arguments on clause 9.2 under which the share of Punjab and Haryana water would be decided. Punjab will file its claim on the remaining water. Haryana has also been advised to file counter reply by July 12th, The Tribunal told Rajasthan Government not to file any claim regarding clause 9.2. ‘The Counsel for the Delhi administration, Mr. Murli Bhandare was told by the Tribunal that his case will not be heard.
