JAIPUR (PTI): The geological survey of India (GSI) has discovered huge deposits of emerald in prearavalli rocks in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. The GSI geologists at Jaipur, who presented a research paper ab the just concluded annual convention on exploration geophysics, reported that the emerald belt of Rajasthan extended for nearly 170kms from Bubani Muhami in the northeast to Gumurha in the southwest, with Tikhi and Kalingu man in between, An interval of nearly 100hin between the occurrence in the northeast and southwest is mostly covered which needed to be explored, the scientist said.
