NEW DELHI(PTI): Engineers India LTD (BIL) has secured a prestigious assignment from Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) to conduct a technical survey to establish the plant condition of KNPC’s three refineries at Shuaiba, Mina Al Ahmadi and Mina Abdulla, and to prepare their maintenance cost profile.
The publicsector company has won the $1 million assignment against tough competition from global players, reports “The Economic Times”, The objective of this survey is to establish the present condition of the refineries which have been in op ration for a long time, and 0, identify the maintenance requirements for their continued operation for the next 1015 years, EIL specialists will carry out conditional survey of critical equipment, assessment of their residual life and estimate the cost Of repair/replacement of equipment. BIL had earlier worked in Kuwait for the waste water treatment plant of KNPC at Shuaiba refin= cry in the carly “80s, It has other major assignments in Iran, Abu Dhabi, Algeria and Qatar. It is: also bidding for various other projects in the west Asia region” and hopes to bag other major assignments in the near future. EIL’s new assignment comes at) a time when it has launched 2 major thrust in its Intemational operations, In addition to its activities in Kuwait, EIL has identified several “target countnies” including Iran, Algeria, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Viet nun.
