ABOHAR; Eight persons, including  10 yr. old boy, were killed and 20 injured, five of them seriously when the police opened fire on the striking Bhiwani Cotton Mill workers on Friday.

The workers of the mill are on a strike for more bonus and other demands. Two workers, Anil Tiwari and Ramchandra, have been on a hunger strike since October 21.

On Friday, the workers sat in a dhamna at the main gate and did not allow the officers to going and come out of the office. At about 1:30 p.m. on the managements request the Naih Tebsidhar with a police force came to the mill and asked the workers to open the gate.

But the workers did not budge, on that the Naib Tebsildar ordered the police to fire.
