The machinery of repression set up by the Evil Brahman empire of India in Punjab is massive and elaborate but ‘the world may finally have started taking notice. The US State department’s advisory to an immigration judge in ‘San Francisco recently to take into account the extrajudicial actions of the police in Punjab in an asylum case hopefully is a pointer in this direction. This step though belated needs to be lauded by every Sikh. The US and other western Govt’s must move steadily in this direction mounting pressure on the fake democracy by way of economic sanctions to free its long suffering people. All aid which is used to buy arms to kill innocent citizens must be stopped as must all trade until India cleans up its act and sets free its minorities.
On the one hand Sikhs living abroad need special permission to enter their homeland Khalistan (Indian occupied Punjab) while on the other the Indian Govt tells western governments not to issue visas to Sikhs as they are “terrorists”. Many Sikhs are not even issued passports or have had them impounded. Laws have been enacted which give the police unlimited power to kill any Sikh with immunity.
The local press is under strict censorship millions of copies of newspapers have been seized and destroyed. Foreign media persons have not been allowed into Punjab for over a decade. The two Indian news agencies by and large toe the official line in the “larger national interest” of maintaining India’s unity. Last week it was decided to clamp down on the entry of Sikh newspapers and magazines printed abroad.
The Indian Govt goes to great lengths to project Sikhs as criminals and terrorists but it prevents international human rights monitors from visiting the state to see for themselves the mass murders torture and rape of Sikh women at the hands of the police. Last year it allowed Amnesty International to visit Punjab but withdrew the permission the very next day bowing to Congress-I party’s pressure which has been in the forefront in the genocide of the Sikhs starting with Indira Gandhi herself. Ironically India has often quoted Amnesty reports of human rights violations in Lanka and elsewhere when it has suited it to do so.
The local Punjab Human Rights Organizations activists have increasingly been target of police attacks in an effort to silence these fearless champions of the Sikhs rights. In one case the 17 year old son of an activist was killed in a fake encounter by the police.
In short Punjab was sought to be hemmed in from all sides and made into a secret killing field till the spirit of the Sikhs was broken and they bowed to the Brahman will. India has failed in this Hitler type nefarious design.
For this we must be eternally grateful to the thousands of brave Sikh men and women who have gladly laid down their lives or are languishing in the prisons of many countries including the US. Their sacrifices have kept Sikh honor and the spirit of nationalism alive. And to those Sikhs who have devoted much time effort and resources in this struggle for human dignity and freedom.
The Sikhs need to thank Amnesty International Asia Watch both the PHROs several hundred US Senators and Congressmen for standing up for them in the hour of their greatest need.
Sikhs also need to write to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to stop all aid to India Of the nearly $7 billion IMF plans to give India $ 2 billion has already been spent on the purchase of warplanes and much of the rest will be spent on the paramilitary in Punjab Kashmir and Assam.
‘Asia Watch has just come out with a detailed report “Crisis in Punjab” which every Sikh must procure read send to his or her Congressman and Senator. It is published by the Human Rights Watch 485 Fifth Avenue
New York NY10017.
