AMRITSAR: Panthak Committee Dr. Sohan Singh said in a Press release that Decentralization alone will not help India revive its economy or bring about political stability. The Panthic Committee notes with interest western nations and financial institutions apprehension at India’s continuing economic deterioration and their lack of confidence in India’s ability to halt the slide under its present constitutional arrangements. However the Panthic Committee does not share their view that India could ease its current problems with decentralization of the economy alone without accepting some secession.
It is also appreciated that the west is now endorsing opinions expressed by the Sikhs in 1947 and in the 1974 Anandpur Sahib resolution. At both instances Sikhs maintained that apart from some shared facilities Indian regions should have political and economic autonomy to manage their own affairs and enter into direct International trade. It is regretted that support for the idea never came up and now it is far 100 late The Panthic Committee holds the view that any possible economic revival in India will continue to be affected adversely in the presence of unresolved regional disputes as they have done since 1984 These disputes will continue to political stability as it goes on investing its depleting resources to suppress freedom struggles in India. India was never one is not one and will never be one and there can be no stability unless it breaks up into its natural part. The Panthic Committee is committed to an independent Khalistan and will carry on its campaign until freedom is achieved. It will be in India’s best interest to agree to secession. These fundamental changes in the Indian subcontinent are the only possible way to restore political and economic stability as well as competition for viable and pragmatic policies in the region.
The Panthic Committee would suggest that the International Financial Committee should make a clear and realistic analysis before throwing money to unworkable propositions that will only encourage India to postpone hard but inevitable decisions. The Panthic Committee wishes the people of India a constructive relationship with its new government and hopes that the incoming government will adopt conciliatory policies to restore peace in the subcontinent. The Panthic Committee would like to remind the mew government that the subject of an independent Khalistan is not negotiable and India should stop suppressing the freedom campaign with violent force. For India’s future success and stability in the subcontinent the Panthic Committee hopes that the Indian government will make urgent and necessary amendments to its constitution t9 enable it to center talks establish a mutually satisfactory demarcation of territory between Khalistan and India It is hoped that the new Indian government will the issue peacefully in the same spirit of generosity that the British had shown to India in 1947. As the Sikhs have never signed on to a Constitution of India the matter of secession of Khalistan from the Union of India is based on justifiable possibilities and should not affect the unity of the rest of India.
The Panthic Committee would continue to wish the people of India a prosperous stable and peaceful future after an amicable demarcation of territorial boundaries between Khalistan and India.
