RANCHI(BIHAR): The indefinite “economic blockade” sponsored by the All Party Jharkhand State Struggle Committee (APJSSC) in south Bihar in support of their demand for a separate Jharkhand state has remained “incident free” so far on the 23rd day April 7, according to official Sources.
There has been no fresh report of attempts by agitators to damage rail tracks. The blockade has often turned violent, and rail racks have been a favorite target of agitators.
Transportation of coal and minerals, both by rail and road, from various collieries and mines located in Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Lohardagga, Gumla, Chaibasa, Jamshedpur, Dumka, Dhanbad and Godda also remained “uninterrupted,” they added.
The proposed Jharkhand state comprises parts of four states in central and eastern India and is very rich in minerals, but has so far remained underdeveloped.
