The new exhibit “The Continuous Journey: The Punjabi Experience in the Sacramento Valley” will open on Friday, September 27 at the Community Memorial Museum in Yuba City, An invitation is extended to everyone to attend the opening reception scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. “The Continuous Journey” is a cooperative exhibit created by the Museum staff and a committee comprised of members of East Indians for Community Enhancement. It explores the history of the East Indian immigrants to our area through culture, religion, farming, business, and various aspects of their everyday lives.
“The Continuous Journey” offers an insider’s view of one of the colorful cultures that make up our local community. Here is an opportunity to learn more about these fascinating people who are a part of our everyday world, as well as important contributors to our area’s history and its future. Photos, text, unique objects and video will bring the museum visitor an in-depth look at this exotic culture. The exhibit will run from September 27 through December 1. The Community Memorial Museum of Sutter County is located at 1333 Butte House Road in Yuba City.
