BARODA (GUJARAT)(PTI): The Dunkel proposals would benefit farmers as it would enable them to get more price for their produce, an Indian farmers organization leader has said. Shetkari Sanghatana (farmers union) leader Sharad Joshi said the trading and business community was opposing the proposals as they would lose their protected market.
The trade union leader also demanded that the controversial Sardar Sarovar project should be completed on time to meet the irrigation and drinking water needs of Saurashtra and Kutch regions in Gujarat and criticized developed nations for opposing the projection environmental grounds.
