The general response of Sikhs to the Longowal Gandhi agreement is that “It is a positive though small step.”’ This skepticism stems from two concerns. Firstly the language of the agreements seems vague in places. Can the government of India be trusted to follow through with the spirit of Agreement.

Secondly the Agreement does not touch upon numerous other legitimate demands of Sikhs.
