Dr Harbans Singh Sraon of Nebraska City, Nebraska, was elected as President of Kiwani International Club on Sept. 18, 1986 at their meeting in Hamburg, lowa.

Dr. Singh was born in village Brahmapur, District: Ludhiana and graduated from High School in Barundi and took his M.Sc. degree from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He completed his Ph.D. in U.S.A. He is presently working as a chemist in Towa.

Dr. Sraon is a dedicated Gur Sikh and Director of Finance for World Sikh Organization. He is also project manager for Dharam Parchar Committee of W.S.O. and is also presently occupied in the building of a Gurdwara for Mid West Sikh Association in Kansas.

‘After the Operation Blue Star and the 1984 riots, Dr. Saron managed to send through Salvation Army relief measures for the victims of the Government sponsored violence in Delhi and other towns in India.

The banquet at the formal designation of Dr. Harbans Singh Sraon was very largely attended and Ep. Governor, Lloyd Gere was amongst the guests who attended.
