NEW DELHI: The temporary truce between the Jagdish Tytler and H.K.L. Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) seems to have fallen through sooner than expected, with the minority Tyler group deciding to resign en masse from the committee.

Talking to ‘The Pioneer,’ one of Tytler’s supporters said the dissidents had also finalized plans to hold their first public meeting on August 29 to show their strength and express “solidarity with their leader R,K. Dhawan.”

Dhawan has also reportedly agreed to address the rally, tentatively scheduled to ye held at Mahair Vatika in Daia Ganj.

Meanwhile, Surface Transport Minister Tytler, along with five of his supporters among the DPCC office-learners, have sought an audience with Prime Minister Narasimha Rao.

According to Parcharan Singh Josh, a Tytler idealist and an executive member in the DPCC, the delegation would also submit six resignation papers form the DPCC to the Prime Minister. “This is to bring to his knowledge that Committee is unconstitutional,” said Josh,

The minority Dhawan-Tytler faction feels that DPCC should have only 21 members, including the president, if the Congress’ organizational act is to be followed up. On July 24, when the much a waited list of DPCC office bearers was announced, it contained 37 names, including that of Bhagat.

As per the Congress Act, there should be only one vice president, but the new DPCC has seven of them,” said Josh, who added that it was a mockery of the rules an regulations of the organization “which cannot be tolerated.”

The six office bearers of the anti Bhagar action in the Committee are Jagdish Tytller an executive member. J.P.Aggarwal (vice president), Bhureal Shastri and Is liran Chaudhy, both general secretaries, Harcharan Singh Josh (executive member)and Vir Singh Sani, who has been made one of the nine joint secretaries.

Josh also added that the newly elected MP from New Delhi consistently, Rajesa Khanna, who is a special invite to the DPCC, has also decided to dissociate himself with the Committee.

As a run up to the recent announcement of office-bearers, the Dhawan/Tytler group was harping that they be allocated nine posts in the Committee, while 12 should be left for bhagat’s supporters.

An extended meeting has also taken place between V.C_Shukla, Tytler and Dhawan, to finalize the size of each faction’s representation in the Committee. It was also hinted that the final say of the Pradesh President would be honored.
