Day was celebrated at Pompano sue in Vermont on July 27, 1986, The Sangat included Sikhs from New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont, Bhai Avtar Singh, Vice-president, W.S.0 (US.A-East), addressed the congregation and dwelt on the circumstances leading to the creation of the W.S.0. Two years ago and its continued need to protect the interests of Sikhs in India. At the end, he appealed for a collection of dollar a day for W.S.0. And the collection was sent to the treasure W: S.O. in Nebraska, U.S.A. Amarit Singh Buttar
