LOS ANGELES: On August 13, 1988, S. Lakhbir Singh Chima one of the Pioneer members of the World Sikh Organization and Senior Officer bearer of the WSO Executive Committee hosted a WSO Los Angeles Chapter meeting at his residence. The meeting was attended by over 150 local chapter members and their families. The efforts made by Sardar Chima and his family demonstrate their deep commitment and dedication to the Panthic cause. The WSO Executive Committee extends their sincere gratitude to S. Chima and his family.

The meeting was opened by S. Chima by welcoming the members, S. Sukhcharan S. Chima briefly reminded the members the sequence of events which led to the formation of WSO and role played by S, Lakhbir Singh Chima in the formation of WSO. He reminded the members that WSO) may not have come into existence if S. Chima had not offered his house at a critical time when WSO’s constitution was being drafted. S. Sukcharan Singh Cheema: offered a very appropriate and precious book (gift) to S. Gurcharan S. Dhillon. The gift was presented to S. Gurcharan Singh, President WSO—USA by S. LakhbirS. Chima on behalf of the Los Angeles Chapter. S. Gurcharan S. Dhillon expressed his deep appreciation and sincere thanks to all the members especially to S. Lakhbir S. Chima and his family for their untiring efforts to serve the Sikh cause and S. Sukhcharan Singh Cheema for a very timely and valuable gift entitled Guru Gobind Singh Ji Da Asha by Narinder Singh Bhular. S. Gurcharan S. Dhillon also briefed members on the past and present activities of the WSO. He promised that he will serve the cause to the best of his ability. S. Harbans S. Sraon also addressed the members. He emphasized the need for unity and hard work.

The members were very pleased with the WSO performance and expressed their complete confidence and unconditional support to WSO. The meeting was adjourned after Guru Ka Langar.

  1. chima continues to play a model role in serving the Sikh cause. This is a challenge to the other Vice Presidents to build a similar rapport and support about WSO in their community. The truth is on our side and with Guru’s grace we will achieve our aim and be able to pray freely at Harminder Sahib.
