KARNAL, India: The Haryana Sangharsh Samiti Chief Devi Lal has described the expulsion of H.N. Bahuguna, the acting President of Lok Dal from the Party by the group led by Ajit Singh and Charan Singh as internal fight of U.P. politicians.

In an interview Kama Kwara village he stated that those who wanted to increase infighting in the Lok Dal are playing into the hands of the Congress (I). He denied that the conflict in Lok Dal at the National Level would have any impact on the party unity in Haryana or the election prospects of Sangharsh Samiti in the state. He appealed to the two factions in U.P. not to increase the problem and difficulties of Haryana Sangharsh Samiti. He maintained that the Sangharsh Samiti was not fighting election battle in Haryana alone but also in U.P., Bihar and Rajasthan as well. Devi Lal admitted that knowingly or unknowingly some leaders of Lok Dal were playing in the hands of Congress (I). Asked why he hesitated to play the role of mediator to end the differences between Ajit Singh and Bahugana, he said I am too much tied down. He had already resigned the Chairmanship of the party committee. He was not aware if there was any rift in the national executive committee of Lok Dal as claimed by Ajit Singh as a sequence expanding Bahuguna.
