NAGPUR (PTI): Balasaheb Deoras the chief of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh was kept under house arrest Dec 14 and the National headquarters of the organization situated here sealed by the police following the ban imposed on it by the Narasimha Rao government.

Local offices of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad Bajrant Dal and Jamat-E-Islami were also sealed. The ailing 78-year-old RSS chief told reporters during the arrest that the ban was “illegal and unfortunate.”

RSS supporters gathered outside the three-storied green and yellow building which houses the organization’s headquarters and shouted slogans against the ban.
