NEW DELHI(PTI): A seven member council of ministers, the first ever for the national capital region of Delhi, headed by Bhartiya Janata Party chief minister Madan Lal Khurana, was swom in here Dec.2.
The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Lt Governor of Delhi, P.K.Dave, at his official resident.
He was constitutionally appointed chief minister on Wednesday through a presidential decree. The council of ministers would be sworn in on Friday at 1500 hrs. (Local time) at the same venue as the presidefial assent has not been received so far.
Before the swearing-in ceremony, the presidential notification appointing Khurana was read out. Khurana took the oath in Hindi at 1715 hours (local time).
‘The elections to the 70member assembly 10 govern the national Capital temitory of Delhi were held on November 6 in which BJP secured an overwhelming majority winning 49 seats, The Congress(I) bagged 14 seats, Janata Dal four and independents three.
