LUDHIANA (PTI): A daily. Private air taxi service has been introduced between Delhi and Ludhiana, famous for its wool machine tools industry. Inaugurating the maiden light.

Here recently, the Punjab minister for rural development Umrao Singh said a regular and punctual Delhi Ludhiana flight was a long, standing desire of the business community here and promised all help to the private airlines in its venture. The chairman of city link airways, G.S.Bhambra, said though the government has opened up the civil aviation sector for operating private air taxi services, unending red tape and inordinate delay in customs clearance was hindered their smooth operation. Operating in India since October 1992, the airways currently connects the metro cities of Delhi, Bombay and Calcutta. Other important destinations will soon be Connected, he added.
