BOMBAY: P,M. Rustomkhan, advocate for Aminabai Ibrahim Kaskar, has alleged that his client ‘was being “discriminated against” merely because she was the mother Of Dawood Ibrahim, principal accused in the Bombay blast case. Rustomkhan told the designated court last week that when (at the behest of Kaskar) he had sought to hand over a letter to an officer of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Bombay, the latter had refused to accept the letter. The letter, he said, contained a “question the investigating officer that a copy of the application made 19 the designated coun for attachment of the second floor premises #33, Pak modia street be famished to Ms. Kaskar on her advocate.

 

Rustomkhan said that the CBI might have decided not to concede the request, but they could not refuse to even accept the Letter merely because the interests of Dawood’s mother were involved. He said that he was compelled to send a telegram to the superintendent, CBI, STF, Bombay recording the fact of refusal. On October 1, the designated court had issued a warrant for the attachment of the second floor of Haji Ismail Trust, at Pakmodia street and made it returnable. On October 26. The warrant was issued on an application made by the CBI on grounds that the said property belonged to Dawood Ibrahim.
