AHMEDABAD (PTI) One person was killed and several others were injured in group classes, which broke out Sunday evening at Sidhpur in Mehsana district of western state of Gujarat when a religious procession was being taken out in the town.

The authorities have clamped an indefinite curfew following the disturbances.

Police fired one round in the air to disperse the rampaging jobs, after busting of teargas shells and baton charge failed to control the Situation. Four policemen were injured in the melee.

A number of shops and houses were set ablaze by the mobs.

Top police officers have rushed to the town, where the situation was described as “tense” but under control.
