HYDERABAD: Curfew was reimposed Jan 4 in some parts of the old city following fresh stabbing incidents Thursday night.
Hyderabad police commissioner M V Bhaskar Rao said day curfew was imposed in Barkas under Chandrayana gutta police station limit and in Balapet and Kotapet areas in the adjoining Ranga Reddy district as a precautionary measure.
Three bus passengers were stabbed in Chandrayanagutta area in the night. Some miscreants stopped the bus and inflicted knife wounds on the passengers. The condition of the injured who were admitted to the Osmania general hospital was stated to be improving
Meanwhile night curfew in 19 police station areas of the old city of this capital city of southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh which witnessed unprecedented communal violence last month would continue from 10 pm the commissioner said.
Bhaskar Rao appealed to people not to believe rumours as the situation in the city was peaceful.
