SAN SALVADOR: El Salvador’s peace process nearing a deadline for completion is facing its deepest crisis since it began 10 months ago with both sides saying a fragile ceasefire is in danger.

Analysts and diplomats said the current crisis is driven by the core issues that caused the 12 year old civil war which claimed an estimated 70000 lives Implementation of the final most substantive terms of the peace agreements disarmament of the FMLN electoral and legal reforms and restructuring the army demand serious concessions from both sides
