‘According to sources Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana who is tension punishing the guilty of the 984 riots has sent feelers to Police Commissioner M B. Kaushal or getting the case against Sanjay Shalwale’s grandson closed ‘The Delhi Police has hitherto not tilted any action in this case.
It is Learned that the Director of Prosecution had last week rec: rein issue of challan in the and immediate trial of Sanjay pointing Out that the evidence against him was of conclusive a true But no action has been so far been taken.
The Riot Cell of Delhi Police had Started investigation against Sanjay immediately after an FIR number 271 was lodged with the Krishna Nagar police station in East Delhi on August 3 1993.
There were three affidavits Against Sanjay confirming that Sanjay was seen leading a bunch of miscreants during the loot killing and arson in November 1984.
Several persons who were interrogated confirmed Sanjay’s involvement in the riots
The evidence shows that Sanjay was leading a mob in attacking Sikhs and tooting their shops at the Krishna Nagar Chowk the sources said ‘
Significantly when the investigations were on Sanjay also produced himself before the police giving the reference of his Stand father the police had then recorded his version as a matter of Clarification even though It is not required sources said
After investigations into the case were completed the Riots Cell had sent its report to the Director of Prosecution for its recommendations.
Both Mr. Khurana and Mr. Kaushal have denied any role in the cover-up.
