TORONTO: Bill 79 which will require the provincial Civil Service, the public sector and private business employing 50 or more people to set goals and time tables for hiring in four target areas. This bill is getting strong opposition from employers and business organizations.

Businesses that do not comply with the law will face up to $50,000 fines. Lobby groups for both sides were eagerly advancing their cause even before the hearings began.
