NEW DELHI, India: Serious allegations of a conspiracy by a military officer to shoot down the Prime Minister, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi’s plane were made in a writ petition moved by an army Major before a Division Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday, says a report reaching here.

A Bench consisting of Justice B.K. Khanna and Justice R.P Singh, entertaining the petition at their residence as the High Court is closed on account of strike by its employees, directed the Union Government to file a counter affidavit within three weeks.

The judges ordered that the Petition be listed for Dec. 15.

The petition of Maj. D.V. Singh Posted at Dehradun alleged that some time back Lt. Col. APS. Sandhu, Commanding Officer, called him in his office and sought his cooperation in order to shoot down the plane carrying the Prime Minister which he was stunned to hear.
