SELMA, CA: Rep George Radovich R expressed his anger and dismay at Indian government’s ruthless and repressive attitude towards the minorities including Sikhs. He said that he ‘was aware of cold blooded extermination of Sikhs and will press U.S. government to confront India in toughest terms, He made these comments while talking to World Sikh News.
He informed the crowd that he was determined to visit Punjab and India within a year to gather firsthand knowledge of Sikh repression when asked whether the Indian government would issue him visa to visit, he quipped, “They’d better dose.” Cong. Radanovich participated in the Selma Sikh Parade and agreed with the family values being displayed. Answering another question whether he would be safe in India, he said, “We have to talk to Indian authorities to make sure that American lawmakers are safe when they are in India.”
While Cong. Radanovich was talking, Dr, Gurmit Singh Aulakh of Council of Khalistan interjected, “Don’t worry Congressman, people of Khalistan are behind you when you visit them.” Dr. Aulakh reminded Cong. Radanovich that India was a major recipient of US aid and being a superpower, a US lawmaker could be quite effective in bringing India in line with Geneva’s declaration on human rights.
