NEW DELHI: Rowdism, drunken behavior, dancing in the aisles of an aircraft, molesting air hostesses and other female delegates are some of the activities indulged by the Youth Congress1 and the ‘National Students Union India(NSUI) delegates on their recent trip to ambassadors of India goodwill.

A report in a July 12 National Daily said the delegates to the recently concluded International Youth Festival spent two weeks in the North Korean capital Pyongyang chasing women, creating drunken scenes and making a nuisance of themselves. This behavior was so bad that participants from other countries began to shun the Indian delegation complaining bluntly about their attempts to molest women at the festival. The British delegation described “them as ‘beasts and animals’. There were complaints from the Australians and French as well. Even the Soviet air hostesses aboard the Aeroflot flight which flew them from to Pyongyang were not spared. The Youth Congress1 and NSUI Representatives, rang the bell endlessly, made silly demands and lea red at the stewardess.

When the delegation boarded Aeroflot to fly back to New Delhi, they found that call bells on all the seats had been disconnected and the crew were mostly male.

Even then the staff was kept busy in intervening in physical brawls between the drunk Youth Congress I men and the NSUI men.

Things reached a pitch on the Khabroski-Kranayosk when unruly members of the two Congress I Youth bodies got after their women counterparts.
