JAMMU, India: The process of dissension and disintegration in the Congress (I) has already reached the last province of the country in the northern region i.e. Jammu and Kashmir. This process has been initiated with the resignation of Mr. Mufti Mohammad Sayyed, ex Union Tourist Minister, from the Cabinet of Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. Many prominent Congressmen including Mr. Moti Lal Bohra, Mr. Puran Singh, Mr. Om Chopra, Mr. Yash Paul Sharma, Mr. Balwant Singh resigned from the primary membership of Congress (1) Party. All these leaders reiterated their full faith in the leadership of Mr. Mufti Sayyed who had left the party to fight out the corruption in the high offices of the party.
The new development is considered a significant hint for the downfall of Congress (I). Some more leaders are expected to join the dissident ranks in the near future.
