DELANO, CA: Praveen Kaur Sra, daughter of Gurcharan S.Sra and Surjeet K.Sra, recently graduated from Delano High School as class valedictorian, Her 4, 6 gpa earned her numerous awards, such as Tiger of the Year, National Honor Society ‘Outstanding Senior,” Bank of America plaque, CSF lifetime member, gold medal in speech and bronze in math in the Academic Decathlon and she was named “Girl of the Year’ by the Soroptomist Club. She received scholarships from Wal-Mart, Elks Lodge, and Arurit Sandhu Foundation.
And the Robert C.Byrd Honors Scholarship. Praveen was also very active in school serving as the editor of the yearbook, president of the English Organization, vice-president of National Honor Society, secretary of German Club and treasurer of Computer Club. She also participated in Friday Night Live, Student Senate, Drama Club, Basketball, Tennis, and Volleyball. In her community, she is a junior volunteer at the hospital and part of Day Spring sponsored canned food drives and clothing distribution. This fall, Praveen will be attending UCLA with an Alumni Scholarship and she will begin preparing for medical school.
