NEW DELHI(PTI):The Congress I Jan.21 ruled out the possibility of a coalition at the center but said “some talks” were on the Janata Dal-A.

“There is nothing in it,” the party spokesman, V.N.Gadgil said when asked to comment on a report that the party leadership was actively working on a plan which envisaged induction of around half a dozen ministers from the allies and friendly parties.

“There is no question of a coalition. How can there be a coalition? It is a Congress I government,” Gadgil said. He said “some talks” were on with the Janata Dal (A), (The Ajit Singh faction of the Janata Dal) but he did not know at what stage the talks were. “We want support from anyone,” he said.

On whether the JDA leader, Ajit Singh was joining the Union Cabinet, he said “unless you agree for a coalition, how can he join?” The AIADMK, one of the allies of the party, is supporting the government but has not joined it.
