NEW DELHI: The Government has taken “serious note” of the hike in the prices of soft drinks being manufactured by multinational corporations like Coca Cola and Pepsi and termed it “unjustified,” especial view of the excise concessions given to manufacturers in the last Union Budget. The retail prices of Coke and Preps! (300 mi bottles) were hiked suddenly from Rs 5.5010 Rs 7 recently in many parts of the city.
Sent to kidnap, kill Navioj Singh, associated with the “Khalistan Commando Force (Punjwar) group,” confessed during interrogation that he and his accomplice were sent to India with a mission to kidnap and assassinate important dignitaries, and to carry out activities in the country, the police said in Delhi, Navtej Singh had also supplied a list of the VIPs, who were considered targets by militants, to the interrogating officials. He also admitted during the interrogation that the Pakistani intelligence agency ISL had provided him intensive training for the task.
