SRINAGAR(PTI): Security forces Oct.2 smashed the main communication center of a militant outfit while five persons including a television artist and three militants were killed in continued violence in the Kashmir valley.
In a predawn swoop, troops raided three hideouts at Hyderpora, Lal Chowk and Qammerwari, and smashed the main communication center of Jamiat ul Mujahideen, officials said. The security forces seized a powerful wireless set and other sophisticated electronics including an antenna, printer and electronic gadgets. Shot dead was Mohammad Shafi Bhat, a small screen artist at Umer Heer in Soura area of Srinagar early Saturday, official sources said. Ghulam Rasool Bhat was killed while another person was injured when army troopsretumed fire after they were ambushed by militants at Kangan. Sources said.
