For the last 45 years Hindu dominated Govt. of India has been preoccupied with its desire to convert all religious minorities back into Hinduism. This agenda was adopted by Jan Singh BJP and VHP. They did it so cleverly that it convinced Congress party that anybody who wants to rule India has to please the Hindu majority. Indira Gandhi who led the Congress party after her father was obsessed with the idea of continuing her family’s role. She gave in to the Hindu fundamentalist pressure with the result now there is no difference between Congress or BJP or VHP.
Decline in morality also contributed to economic decline Instead of concentrating in the development of the country and rewarding the hard working farmers and workers these corrupt officials drained the treasury in to their private Swiss Bank Accounts. When officials at the level of Prime Minister became openly corrupt corruption became endemic in every field.
The Govt. of India has failed politically in Kashmir Punjab Assam Nagaland Tamil Naduand Bodo land. The Govt. is also failing economically and end is very near. This economic failure will result in chaos and failure of the armed forces in the very near future. While all this is happening we cannot be silent speculators to the common events. Let us analyze the facts and see how we can help millions of our people to gain freedom without delay.
Trade deficit of India has doubled in 1992 (April-Sept.) compared to the same period in 1991. The external debt is now 71.1 billion dollars. According to some experts India now spends 43% of its revenue to service its debt. This gives us an idea how weak and vulnerable India is.
I believe very strongly that in order to have long term peace in that part of the world India must break into pieces so that a just society based on equal rights and respect for the minorities can evolve. To all of the concerned individuals and organizations. I make some suggestions.
1. We owe all help to the freedom fighters in every part of India. In Kashmir Punjab and some other parts their sacrifices have shown results and the govt. is showing signs of wear. Let us help them more to coordinate their activities for an effective fight against tyranny
2. To all my Sikh brethren in the U.S.-I beg you to continue your efforts for a little longer. Those of who you were so active in 1984 85 and so on please step up your work even more. Sikhs in the U.S. have an even more important role to play we can contribute in many ways.
a) Form a stronger and effective coalition with the other minorities of India -organize Muslims Dalit’s and Christians. Our work should extend beyond demonstrations and slogans. Let us help each other so that corresponding organizations in India become more effective I urge our W.S.O. leaders and Panthic Committee spokesmen to take the lead in this matter.
b) Expose the Indian Govt’s excesses and human rights violation to the free world at different levels. Let us reach out to the universities press (Newspapers and T.V.) other religious and political organizations and representatives We have five members in the U.S. House of Representatives who Support our cause We must bring to the attention of western countries and investment houses Indias nuclear capabilities and its exploitation of the land and its minorities. This can be effective tool to stop more money to India.
3. Let us stop all new activities at the community level which require more money. Let us contribute 10% of our income for 2-3 years towards the liberty of Sikh brothers in Punjab Think about how effective we can be. Let us__ help educate other minorities in India as to how they can be masters of their own destiny.
4. Let us support the lesser levels in Indian politics. Men like V.P.Singh have shown to be more sensitive than Rao and others.
5. Do not send any foreign currency to India. If you want to help your family and friends send money by private channels (who may even pay you more).
Encourage the farming and rural communities in India to unite and organize more effectively. India pays Rs 200 per quintal for wheat in India and about Rs 550 to Canada. The prices of fuel and fertilizers have gone up. If Sikh farmers in Punjab can convert one out of four acres from rice or wheat to commercial crops it would kill the governments procurement system In the last two years farmer communities backs have been broken by the Govt if we can help the farmers properly they can break the governments back also.
The latest events especially the demolition of Babri Masjid by an apparently professional group of Hindus have left no doubts in any body’s mind what India Stands for. When Masjid was being demolished the police stood there as silent spectators. Let us bring it to the attention of Muslim countries so that effective action can be taken at the UN level and some economic sanctions can be applied.”
