NEW DELHI (PTD): A group of Tajik passengers clashed with the customs officials at the International Airport here July 13, forcing the security personnel to intervene and arrest them.

The passengers, who were to board the Tajikistan, bound Uzbek airlines flight TJK108 at 0300 hrs. Tuesday, assaulted the customs officials when they objected to the passengers carrying excess baggage. The passengers raised Slogans and blocked entry into the customs transit area at the international terminal no. 2 and hurled Chairs and flower pots at the customs and police officials, police said.

An unspecified number of passengers sustained injuries when the police used “mild force” 10 control them. Some of the injured persons were hospitalized, police said.
