ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto led a 12hour opposition fast to protest civilian martial law in Pakistan. She accused Nawaz Sharif of leading a govt intent on destroying her Pakistan People’s Party and she renewed allegations of vote rigging in last year’s elections in which PPP was defeated. The opposition alliance called the half-day fast in all Pakistan’s major cities because of a law pushed through parliament by Sharif’s government last month that set up special courts to try people accused of violence.
