Amaritsar — Dr. Jagjit Singh Chohan, Khalistan leader has suggested to the Akali Dal president Sant Harchand Singh Longowal to launch a non-violent struggle to achieve a sovereign state of Khalistan as the panthic objective.

In a letter to Sant Longowal written from London on April 15. Dr. Chohan told the Sant that he ‘‘had not learnt any lessons from Operation Blue Star’ and the ‘“‘carnage”’ which took place in Delhi and other places after the assassination of Indira Gandhi in November last year. Welcoming the release he regretted that the statements made by the Sant were disappointing.

Dr. Chohan charged the Sant with ‘“‘inviting the army” to kill Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, his followers and members of the All India Sikh Students Federation. He warned him that “the Sikh Quam will not pardon you.”

He further suggested for calling a panthic convention at the Akal Takht for objective assessment of the Sikh feelings. Since Anandpur Sahib Resolution is the story of the past.”

Copies of the letter were also sent to SGPC and other Akali leaders.
