AMRITSAR: The Inter-Services Intelligence (IS}) of Pakistan had planned larges ale attacks in Punjab, Jammu and Himachal Pradesh with the help of Punjab “and Kashmir militants, to breathe a new life into the moribund militancy government in the region, according to Indian police.

Highly placed sources revealed on Dee.18, on the basis of certain documents seized from the hideout of the slain Bhindranwale Tigers Force of Khalistan (BTEK) General Satnam Singh Satta alias Chinna, who was a terror in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh, before he was gunned down by Amritsar police, Bhai Satta was arrested by the police and killed in a fake encounter later. The so called documents are believed by informed circles as nothing more than a report based on his interrogation by the Indian police.

The documents disclosed Sate’s contacts with the ISI and Punjab militants who have taken shelter in Pakistan. Sources revealed that a hand fill of surviving, topranking militants, who have of late been trying to organize their outfits by recruiting new food, are feeling disappointed by the lukewarm response of the Punjabi youth towards the struggle for Khalistan.

According to the documents, a Meeting between Chinna and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (KLE) militants had been. Arranged for December 5 at Pathankot, but the meeting did not materialize as the BTFK chief was killed. Intelligence officials said the crucial meeting was to seal a deal between the two organizations to work in close coordination, and at times, even jointly.

According to the documents, Chinna had decided to confine his arca of action along the borders of Jammu, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Another set of documents told about the meeting Chinna had with two ISI officials at New Delhi in September, This meeting was arranged at the behest of Baby the 30yearold widow of the Black thunder period, Roshan Lal Bairagi officials said.

The officials said Baby had regular telephonic contacts with Pak based Punjab militants, including Bittu, a key member of the Panthic Committee (Sohan Singh).

Baby, who was picked up by the Delhi police a month back, had confessed to having regular contacts with the Punjab militants operating here and those based in Pakistan, besides, she also had contacts with the ISI, officials said.

During his two month stay in the rural areas of this district, Chinna visited the one time sensitive villages of Bhakna, Sansra, Jhancer, China, Tara and a few others and contacted the families and relatives of slain militants, in the Ghanrinda, Lopoke and Ajnala police station areas. This is when he undertook a motivation drive, incurring the young, male members of these families to join his group.
