CHICAGO: Chicago sangat illustrated an example of unity strength and service when three candidates to the executive board in place of retiring board members were unanimously nominated without going through the formal of elections. Out of the five contesting candidates Sardar Sohan Singh and Sardar Batwant Singh Atwal withdrew their names in the wider interests of Panthic unity and Chardi Kala. The three candidates Sardar Jagdishar Singh Ghuman Sardar Himmat Singh Ahuja and Sardar Gurdip Singh Sangha were therefore unanimously elected.
When the time came for choosing a president and administrative secretaries it was a unanimous decision. Sardar Harbans Singh Sangha was elected as the President of the Board of Trustees. Chicago is one of the very few cities to have the Guru’s Blessing of unity and rational approach on all community issues.
