The Sikh American community Of Chicago area is celebrating “thanksgiving” by donating blood Of which there is an acute shortage in Chicago area the blood drive is being organized by the Sikh religious society of Chicago On Nov, 19th  in linger hall of the society in Palatine Illinois.

“We are thankful to this great Country, our adopted home, where we are raising our children, for all it has given to our families. More Over it is congruent with the Sikh Philosophy of sharing and caring”, said Irwin Singh, one of the organizers,

“Incidentally it coincides with the celebration of 520th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism”, added Lakh want Singh Komal the president of Sikh religious society of Chicago.

The Sikh community is donating prepared food for over 300 people ‘to Salvation Army in Chi Cago to be distributed amongst the needy on thanks giving day”. Said Rajinderbir Singh Mago the social secretary. The food is to be pre pared by S. Kanwarjit Singh Chhatwal.
