CHANDIGARH: A,S.Chatha, Chief Secretary to Government of Punjab, had been given one year’s extension in service, it was officially announced here on Dec,8, Chatha was appointed Chief Secretary in April, 1992, He was due to retire on Jan.31 next after attaining superannuation. Chief Minister Beant Singh, while recommending to the Center for an extension to Chatha, had stated that his continuation to the developmental process in the state had been laudable. He had also praised his “dynamism and efficiency” in toning up the administrative Setup in the state.
