NEW DELHI: A Delhi court Tuesday rejected an application of Win Chadha, an accused in the Bofors case, seeking inspection of documents relating to the 1.3 billion dollar 155 mm howitzer gun deal.
In his nine page order, special Judge PK Jain, said, “I am not ready to accept even the second Vakaltnama (letter of authority) unless it is authenticated by some notary public or an Indian consulate in the country where the Vakaltnama has been executed.”
Referring to the first letter of authority, which was proved to be forged, Jain said “suspicion gives rise to further suspicion which ultimately culminated in truth.”
Chadha, currently based in Dubai, had sought inspection of the Bofors case documents to argue his appeal
