New Delhi — Government of India has sent instructions to the Punjab government to take immediate and urgent steps to ensure that Sikh revolutionaries do not once again immobilize the administration. Consequently instructions have gone to all district headquarters from the State government to intensify mopping up operations and to locate the hideouts of the Sikh freedom fighters.
The matter was discussed at length by the cabinet committee after the murder of BJP leader, Kristan Lal Manchanda, in Chandigarh. The Cabinet committee will shortly visit Punjab subject to the convenience of the Governor.
