OTTAWA; Television in Canada will be more free from violence in the next year. Federal broadcast regulator accepted a tough new code designed to protect children from excessive violence, glamour etc. The code was developed after more than a year of difficult deliberations with TY executives, program producers and antiviolence lobby groups. The code included not airing programs before 9 p.m. that contain violent scenes suit able only for adults, sensitivity to violence against animals, special attention to children’s programs etc.
