New Delhi (PTI) As the mercury shoots up with each passing day the campaigning for the June eight by-elections for two parliament and 18 assembly seats is also heating up.

The New Delhi lok sabha constituency wears a festive look with colorful flags posters and huge buntings of mainly two prominent cine stars decorating the walls and roads As far as posters and flags are concerned the main fight appears to be between the Congress I ‘star’ Rajesh Khanna and the BJP idol’ Shatrughan Sinha.

The other contestants include Jai Bhagwan Jatav of Janata Dal and former dacoit Phoolan Devi now imprisoned in Gwalior jail contesting on the Bahujan Samaj party’s ticket.

In Bihar where the by-elections are being held for one lok sabha and three assembly seats the congress-I and the JD are plagued with dissidence among their rank and file

Nevertheless a neck-and-neck contest is on the cards in the giridih lok sabha and ‘Tmar Vaishali and Danapur assembly seats in the State

In Kerala’s Narakkal reserved assembly constituency however Voters are taking it cool despite the blazing campaigning by the ruling Congress-I UDF and the CPI (m)LDF. The main battle for the seat is between the UDFS Ananthakumar Congress-l ‘and the LDF’s Babu (Congress-S)
