RAYYA: Khalistan Armed Force has called upon farmers of Raya area to cultivate sugarcane, each farmer with a five-acre holding was asked to earmark one acre for sugarcane.
The call was issued following a meeting of the force chaired by Bhai Mathura Singh. Bhai Jagtar Singh, Bhai Joga Singh Khanpur, Bhai Surinder bir Singh, Bhai Labh ‘Singh and other militants participated in the meeting.
The K.A.F’s call to farmers assumes significance in view of the growing need for shelter for underground militants.
Although several militant groups have from time to time suggested the cultivation of sugarcane no organized efforts have so far been made to translate it into practice.
