NEW YORK; NY: Sikh leaders in various Gurdwaras in New York and New Jersey have asked all the Sikh in the New York tri state area to attend the fund raising dinner for the World Sikh News on Sunday April 22.
- Jagjit Singh Mangat, president of the Sikh Cultural Society, Richmond Hill, announced the program to a packed sangat at the Gurdwara Sahib on the Baisakhi Diwan on April 15. The World Sikh News is the only paper of the Sikhs in which we can present our own views and opinions to the international community. We must all get together to support it,” he said.
- Labh Singh, president of the Mid Hudsom Sikh Cultural Society, NY said, ‘we have to promote the World Sikh News. We will ask every member of our Gurdwara to subscribe to this paper.”
- Swinder Singh Joshen of the Singh Sabha of New York has also expressed his organization’s support for the dinner.
- Kamikkar Singh Grewal, President of the Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Glenrock, NJ said that the World Sikh News presented the facts on Punjab to both the Sikhs and the Americans. “We have to strengthen the paper and we should all attend the dinner to raise funds for this Sikh institution,” he said.
- Ajit Singh Cheema, President of the Garden State Sikh Association, Bridge Water NJ expressed his support for the World Sikh News and asked everyone in New Jersey to participate in the dinner.
The $50.00 per person, $100.00 a couple, dinner will be held at 6 pm at the Polish American Club, 5 Pulaski Plaza, Port Washington, in Long Island, NY. Phone 5168835533. Children will be free. The famous Sangeet Group will perform on the occasion.

Take the Long Island Expressway (495) to Exit 36 Searing town Road North. Drive North on Searing town Road for 1.2 miles to Northern Blvd. (Rt. 25A). Cross Northern Blvd. and drive for approximately 3.5 miles to Avenue A on your left. Avenue A is the first left after you pass the IBM Golf Club on your right. Drive down Avenue A to the end and make a right on Valley Road. Then drive one block on your right to the Hall.
