CHANDIGARH: Two Sikh youngmen were killed by the CR. PF. Near Sehrali Village in Kala Naur Police station in Gurdaspur last night. According to the S.S.P. Gurdaspur Mr. J.P. Birdi, the two Sikh youngmen died in a police encounter, but according to the unofficial sources the C.R.P.P. fired at the Jeep which did not stop at the barricade erected by the C.I.R.P.F on one of the roads. As a result of CR.P.F firing two of the ‘occupants of the jeep died on the spot and two others were injured. Both the injured were taken into custody. Mr. Birdi, identified those killed as Ravi Inder Singh and Jassa Singh and those arrested were Khazan Singh and Jaswinder Singh. Meanwhile about 800 activists of the A.I.S.S.F. and United Akali Dal have been arrested in Punjab so far. The twelve hour relaxation in curfew in Batala passed peacefully yesterday. The curfew at Pathankot was completely lifted on Sunday. It was clamped on March 29 following violence when police had to open fire twice -24 persons were wounded in that firing. Twenty-five companies of P.A.P. has been deployed at various railway stations in Punjab. The railway stations, police sources said on Sunday, including Ludhjana, Amritsar, Jullundur, Ferozpur, Dera Baba Nanak, Bhatinda, Pathankot and Fazilka, The patrolling at all these railway tracks has been intensified and made round the clock.
