CALCUTTA (PTI): United Kingdom government has planned to run a series of workshops in Britain as part of a campaign to general awareness regarding new investment opportunities in India and the economic reforms introduced recently, the British deputy high commissioner in city, Tan Mecluney said.
Speaking at meeting on Indo British Partnership Initiative, (IBPI) organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (GID), eastern region, he said that the visit of the British prime minister, Jhon Major, to India after the December incidents was 4 sign of England’s confidence in India.
He said that there was also a need for emphasizing the importance of using the UK as a gateway to Europe for Indian businessmen: wanting to enter the market of unified Europe,
The first secretary in the British high commission, Dr.Gordon Thom, said that there was need to correct India’s image in the eyes of investors and a campaign: spreading over40 cities in the UK was underway for the purpose.
