LONDON (PTI): The Indian high commissioner to the United Kingdom, L…M.Singhvi has challenged as “wholly unrealistic, meddlesome, and unprincipled” the so-called peace plan mooted by a reappointed group of British MPs to the United Nations general secretary Boutros Boutros Ghali.

The group, led by labor party MP, and chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Kashmir group, Roger Godsiff, has called for “direct-action” in resolving the Kashmir issue and urged the U N secretary general “of take immediate steps to reduce tension in the area “by appointing” a special Rapporteur, cosponsored by both the U.S. and Brush government with full backing and authority of the security council to oversee reduction of hostilities.”

They have also called for withdrawal of All Indian Army and security forces, cessation of Pakistani government support to Kashmin groups, and unsponsored administration of Kashmir for five cars, followed by a plebiscite. Challenging the credentials and the background of the authors of the so-called peace plan, Singhvi, said the proposal 1s “self-contradictory” and “is a violation of history, diplomatic practice, international law and India’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

Debating the issue with Mr.Godsiff in the BBC world service radio and television programs, Singhvi said, “the ill-disguised peace plan is a plan to wage war against India, It is a euphemism which does violence to the word peace.”
